HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE ON THE HEAD TO PUT THE ELECTRODES?

WHAT IS A QUANTITATIVE EEG?

A quantitative EEG evaluation provides information about where to place the electrodes and exactly what to work on changing.  Because this evaluation provides over two thousand pieces of information that could never be adequately deduced from symptoms alone, almost all clients are required to have this done.

The client is hooked up with electrodes to the 10-20 sites on the head and the EEG data is collected and stored in a computer.  This is done for ten minutes with the eyes closed and five minutes with the eyes open.  There may also be a reading or math task done to see what the brain does when it is processing information.

The EEG data is then sent to a company which interprets it.  A neurologist with expertise in reading EEG evaluates it, looking for unusual waveforms, slowing, and possible seizure activity.  Then the computerized information is compared to a data base of people with normal brains, where each site is examined to see if it is within or outside of the normal ranges.  Additionally, the pathways between sites are evaluated in regard to the effectiveness of transmission.  From this, we are provided with excellent information about where and how to most effectively create change.
